Eventful Mothers Day
May 14, 2012 in Just Us, Photos
I think to say I had an eventful Mother’s Day is probably the understatement of the century. I spent the morning at home (see yesterday’s post)… it was nice. I cuddled with my cats, and took my two girls to the groomer. Professional groomers make life so much easier. They do all the work for you. It cost a pretty penny.
So I then packed up my old Jeep, loaded 2 of my 4 cockers up and my sister and left behind, sadly, my other 2 cocker kids for Mishou and Pops to come pick up later in the day. I got lots of sad puppy eyes that really are hard to look it. I probably shouldn’t have taken a picture, but I did, so I now have lasting guilt. Isn’t this the saddest thing ever? They don’t understand what’s going on.

So we were off, oh, well, first we had to turn around and go back for my wallet. Thank goodness we did… you will see why later. I dropped my sister off at my mom and dad’s and got to give my mom a quick hug and kiss and a gift and card. My mom got a Lemon sugar bread candle. Lemon is one of her fav scents. Click on my mom’s picture to go read her blog. She loves all things vintage!
So then I was on my way back to Texas with my other 2 cocker kids, Wil and Sadie… all seemed fine until this happened.

Ummm, yeah… I am really lucky. Really lucky! It was hot too. We had roadside assistance come and put the donut on and I drove the next 26 miles to the nearest tire place. By the time my tire was done, my husband was pulling in, he’d made the 3 hour drive in record time to meet me and drive the jeep the rest of the way in case another tire blew. We need 3 more because they are all the same age and all older tires.
Here’s some more of our fun! Wil loves riding in the jeep. He rides very well.

My husband is awfully smiley. He was just happy we were okay and to see the dogs for the first time in a long while.

Once I got through that whole mess, the drive back to the new home was uneventful. It really wasn’t much of a mother’s day but my youngest sister did put this cute card on my facebook page. I just love this, it’s so cute and cocker spaniels too! <3

So we have no internet at home til tomorrow but I hope to get some scrapping or designing done so I can post some more “on topic” stuff for ya’ll.

Every year, we celebrate our anniversary by visiting the lights and taking a carriage ride around the square, just like we did on our wedding night. It’s very special. It was raining yesterday so we will have to go back for the ride but we still stopped by the bakery and picked up a mini Christmas cake and two red velvet cupcakes.
