I hate moving!

I know you get it.  We’ve all had to do it, but I just had to say out loud how much I hate moving!  We are in a big transition and have been now since January.  I started my new job in April and like it pretty well, but now we’ve had to face the actual moving.  We rented a small apartment.  It’s a one bedroom dual level so it’s at least giving us the impression we have more space.  I don’t mind it.  It’s “city style”… well, we live in a big city now… so that’s really different for me.  We went from living in population 80,000 to population 300,000+ and that’s in a “suburb”.

Over the next year, though, things will hopefully put us in place to build our house.  We have the area picked out and have settled on a style we both like.  We could be move in ready sometime next Spring.  Hopefully nothing else derails us, but we are going to prepare for the train to break down, because let’s face it, it usually does.  In the meantime, I am looking forward to the furniture deliveries coming this weekend like this cool looking (and comfy) red leather sofa!

Bubba dog Wil likes the new place… there’s lots more going on, lots to see and lots of people to meet.  I thought this pic came out kinda artsy… I really like it.

Sadie doesn’t seem to mind it either…. the stairs are a lot like home.

So we do have furniture as of this weekend.  A bed, a table, a chair, and the rest is coming soon.  There’s still SO much work to do.  My hubby took over so I could come back to work today.  I have a feeling we’ve got a couple more weekends left to do the remainder of the work.  Then we have to do it all again in about 8 months.

So that brings me back to my post… I hate moving!!

If you have any moving tips or small apartment living tips, LET ME KNOW!  It’s been ages since I’ve done this, so I am learning all over again.  I even have a few pinterest boards to help me out!!  THIS one is my favorite!

One last thing, be sure and grab my facebook freebie… it will only be up for about another week!  Okay, more later, xoxo, Kat

Eventful Mothers Day

I think to say I had an eventful Mother’s Day is probably the understatement of the century.  I spent the morning at home (see yesterday’s post)… it was nice.  I cuddled with my cats, and took my two girls to the groomer.  Professional groomers make life so much easier.  They do all the work for you.  It cost a pretty penny.

So I then packed up my old Jeep, loaded 2 of my 4 cockers up and my sister and left behind, sadly, my other 2 cocker kids for Mishou and Pops to come pick up later in the day.  I got lots of sad puppy eyes that really are hard to look it.  I probably shouldn’t have taken a picture, but I did, so I now have lasting guilt.  Isn’t this the saddest thing ever?  They don’t understand what’s going on.

So we were off, oh, well, first we had to turn around and go back for my wallet.  Thank goodness we did… you will see why later.  I dropped my sister off at my mom and dad’s and got to give my mom a quick hug and kiss and a gift and card.  My mom got a Lemon sugar bread candle.  Lemon is one of her fav scents.  Click on my mom’s picture to go read her blog.  She loves all things vintage!

So then I was on my way back to Texas with my other 2 cocker kids, Wil and Sadie… all seemed fine until this happened.

Ummm, yeah… I am really lucky.  Really lucky!  It was hot too.  We had roadside assistance come and put the donut on and I drove the next 26 miles to the nearest tire place.  By the time my tire was done, my husband was pulling in, he’d made the 3 hour drive in record time to meet me and drive the jeep the rest of the way in case another tire blew.  We need 3 more because they are all the same age and all older tires.

Here’s some more of our fun!  Wil loves riding in the jeep.  He rides very well.

My husband is awfully smiley.  He was just happy we were okay and to see the dogs for the first time in a long while.

Once I got through that whole mess, the drive back to the new home was uneventful.  It really wasn’t much of a mother’s day but my youngest sister did put this cute card on my facebook page.  I just love this, it’s so cute and cocker spaniels too!  <3

So we have no internet at home til tomorrow but I hope to get some scrapping or designing done so I can post some more “on topic” stuff for ya’ll.

Brought to you from…

HOME!  My kitchen table!

Ya’ll already know we are in a big transition… moving to Texas.  Wow… what a huge transition for the Arkansas girl who’s never lived more than an hour or so from home.  But today, I am back at my kitchen table, packing a small amount of stuff up for our new apartment and visiting with my dogs.  They missed me almost as much as I missed them.

Here’s a bit of my adventure today…

The apartment… city style and super cute, but too dang pricey and small!

So the lawn mower won’t start, huh?  Maybe it’s all this grass stuck in the blades.

Oh, yeah, that’s the problem…

Now the lawn’s mowed.  It was seriously out of control.  Thanks Jenn, oops sorry, I did take your picture even though you said “Doooon’t”… ha ha

The cocker kids don’t care for the boxes in the house… they are too smart for their own good.  They know what packing means.  My cats on the other hand, they think “Cool… something to sit on/play with/eat”… lol…  This is Trac… he’s too funny… he just looked at me, lol.

If my husband find me blogging, he might say “get to work”… so that’s my story for the day.  :)

Photography: Super Moon

We had a super moon Saturday night.  Have you ever seen one?  Frankly, it looks the same to me.  They said the moon would be at it’s fullest at 11:35 p.m.  My husband and I went out and snapped a photo.  Here’s the best shot I had.

What do you think?  Do you have a photo of the super moon?  If you do, please post me a link, I’d love to see it!
